Smart Silicon Systems has had a policy of licensing smartcard interface technology third parties for OEM manufacture. One such successful technology transfer development may be seen in the smartcard interface of the Australian Department of Defence Speakeasy Project Included in the design of the speakeasy product was a licence of the Smart Silicon smart card interface. Smart Silicon was also the supplier of the Speakeasy smartcards.

Prison Telephone System
Smart Silicon was the first Australian company to successfully design and manufacture a Smartcard capable, Austel approved public telephone in Australia. The design and manufacture was done for ARUNTA COMSEC Pty Ltd. The product is used throughout Australia in correctional facilities. The following pictures show the telephone in use. Smart Card Enabled Keyboard

One such successful technology transfer development may be seen in the smartcard and magnetic stripe interface of the Fujitsu Liftkey product. This product is designed specifically for the banking and finance industries. It has customisable keyboard scan codes, and an integrated smartcard and magnetic card interface.

Branch Platform Smartcard Management
Smart Silicon has developed customised Windows NT based software for the Commonwealth Bank of Australia. This software is used to satisfy the requirements of Bank operational staff to maintain the smartcard base of the Branch Platform Smartcard System.
