Defence Department Smart Silicon Systems has had a policy of
licensing smartcard interface technology third parties for OEM manufacture.
One such successful technology transfer development may be seen
in the smartcard interface of the Australian Department of Defence
Speakeasy Project Included in the design of the speakeasy product
was a licence of the Smart Silicon smart card interface. Smart Silicon
was also the supplier of the Speakeasy smartcards.
Prison Telephone System Smart Silicon was the first Australian company
to successfully design and manufacture a Smartcard capable, Austel
approved public telephone in Australia. The design and manufacture
was done for ARUNTA COMSEC Pty Ltd. The product is used throughout
Australia in correctional facilities. The following pictures show

Smart Card Enabled Keyboard Smart Silicon Systems has a policy of licensing
smartcard interface technology to third parties for OEM manufacture.
One such successful technology transfer development may be seen
in the smartcard and magnetic stripe interface of the Fujitsu Liftkey
product. This product is designed specifically for the banking and
finance industries. It has customisable keyboard scan codes, and
an integrated smartcard and magnetic card interface.
Branch Platform Smartcard Management Smart Silicon has developed customised Windows
NT based software for the Commonwealth Bank of Australia. This software
is used to satisfy the requirements of Bank operational staff to
maintain the smartcard base of the Branch Platform Smartcard System.

Two
In One
The Two In One smartcard reader acts as both a smartcard reader/writer
and a magnetic track reader. It's ideal for financial transactions and
other applications where a device is required to randomly service multi
technology cards.
Projects
Smart Silicon has been involved in the development
of the largest smartcard systems in Australia including significant
input to the Commonwealth Bank Branch Platform project, the Australian
Department of Defence Defence Signals Directorate Speakeasy Project
and the M5 motorway contactless card project.
